Life has a way of cashing in when we least expect it. You can ignore the signs, delay the decisions, swipe the card of denial, but eventually, the bill comes due. The “reality cheque” isn’t written in dollars or pounds. It’s paid in consequences. In broken hearts, missed chances, silent rooms where there used to be laughter. It’s overdrafts of emotional debt, where you spent more than you had, promised more than you could give, and lived like the future would never ask for receipts.

But reality always reconciles. It doesn’t forget. It waits. Quietly. Then suddenly, and when it arrives, it’s not cruel, it’s clarifying. It’s not revenge, it’s revelation. The truth you've avoided gets printed in bold. The lesson you dodged gets taught, not by choice, but by necessity.

Sometimes, the cheque bounces. You’re left in ruins, wondering how you missed the signs, but sometimes, you cash it early. You listen, you learn, you adjust. And in that moment, you become wealthier than you ever were in ignorance, because the hard lessons are the ones that count the most. They balance you. Ground you. Make sure you never again live as though truth isn’t coming.

Reality doesn’t need permission to show up. It just asks one thing: That you read the fine print before it becomes the headline.

Thought-provoking reflections on life, identity and relationships, written in the style of a modern-day Socratic journal and told through poetic paradoxes and emotional honesty.
